Because the Snowy Range runs almost perfectly north-to-south and there is nothing higher

in elevation in any direction for miles, it captures the full effect of the rising sun almost without

parallel .  Here, from above Lewis and Libby Lakes,  Old Main, a sub-peak of Medicine

Bow Peak, rises above Sugarloaf Mountain's southern ridgeline.  Snowy Range, Wyoming.
